Family Reading Night
Thank you to everyone for making our Family Reading Night such a huge success! We had over 250 people in attendance! A special thanks goes to the Family Reading Night committee for all your hard work!
Accelerated Reader at SME!
Accelerated Reader is off to good start at San Marcos Elementary. All the students in grades 2-5 have taken a placement test and know their independent reading level so they can find an appropriate book when they go to the library.
Students are busy reading and taking comprehension quizzes on the books they have read. Many students have earned enough points to visit our “AR store” and purchase prizes. For every three points students earn they are able to make a purchase at the “AR store”. All store items sell for 3 points and the store is open on the last Friday of each month.
Encourage your child to read and take the computer quiz on the books. Books are available at our local San Marcos library. Students are encourage to check out books from the public library as well to help them earn AR points.
